PS Central Crime Station Hits Hard on Drug Peddlers and 02 Arrested

Port Blair, Sept 28: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested 01 drug peddler. On 25/09/2020 a credible information was received by SHO, PS CCS that one person namely P. Mohammed Puhari R/o Bimblitan will be striking a deal of ganja in Bimblitan Main Road. A raiding team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, Inspr. Mohd Elias, SI T. Dilla Rao, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constable P. K Mondal, K. Rajendran, Hari Krishna Yadav of PS CCS rushed to the spot and later intercepted one person who was coming from Bimblitan side carrying one carry bag. On asking, he disclosed his name as P. Mohammed Puhari S/o Late Peer Sultan (45) yrs R/o Bimblitan. During frisking & search the raiding team recovered 1.220 Kg illicit ganja from his possession. The recovered ganja was seized on the spot and accused was arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985.

On 25/09/2020, similar information received from the informer that one person namely Rajat Basant R/o Dollygunj will be arriving in Hyundai Verna Car bearing Registration No. AN01 N0021 near Hotel Millenium, Dollygunj to strike a deal of ganja. The said raiding team rushed to the spot and later intercepted Hyundai Verna Car bearing Registration No.AN01 N0021 coming from DBRAIT (Polytechnic) side and made to stop in front of Millenium Hotel, Dollygunj. On asking the person driving the car disclosed his name as Rajat Basant S/o Shri Basant Behari Lall (25) yrs R/o Dollygunj. During frisking & search the raiding team recovered 200 grams illicit ganja from the car. The recovered ganja was seized on the spot and accused was arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985. The raids were conducted under the supervision of Sh. Ajay Rai, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) and overall command and supervision of Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID).

The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activities and is keeping strict vigil to stop gambling, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands. General Public is once again requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substances, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, & 9474233832. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
