Rashtriya Janata Auto Union organizes Voluntary Blood Donation CampatPort Blair

Port Blair, May 10: Rashtriya Janata Auto Union, Port Blair organized a Voluntary Blood Donation camp coordinated by A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) at Kerala Samajam, Port Blair on 10th May 2022. A total of 25 units of blood were donated by voluntary donors.

            The Chief Guest for the programme was Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman.

            The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. M. Joy, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A&N Islands. He also supervised the camp and motivated the voluntary donors for the noble cause as it save a precious life.

            An awareness campaign was also organized for blood donation, blood safety and HIV and its occurrence in young adults.

            The Blood Donation was facilitated by Dr. N. R. Kodhandram, Deputy Director (Blood Safety)/ Chief Medical Officer (NFSG). The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and briefed the donors on various aspects and importance of blood donation.

            Mr. A Santhosh Kumar, General Secretary, Rashtriya Janata Auto Union, Port Blair organized the camp and arranged for conducting the camp successfully.

            The technical team from Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair and A&N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for the blood transmissible diseases. They also examined the donors for eligibility. Donors’ certificates were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
