South Andaman District Police Offensive on Illegal Liquor: 301 Bottles Seized, Four Arrested

 

Port Blair, May 04: Intensifying the continuous crackdown on illegal sale of liquor and bootlegging, South Andaman District Police seized 301 bottles of IMFL and arrested four bootleggers.

On 01.03.2020 SI Gaurav Benerjee, SHO Chatham alongwith South Andaman District Special Team comprising of SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Surya Narayan, Constables Bipul Halder, M. Santosh Kumar and Nandita Mistry have conducted raid at Buniyadabad area and recovered 58 bottles of IMFL from the possession of C. Robert (40 yrs.) r/o Buniyadabad.

On 03.03.2020 Insp. Mahesh Kumar Yadav, SHO Pahargaoan along with South Andaman District Special Team comprising of SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Surya Narayan, Constables Bipul Halder, M. Santosh Kumar and Nandita Mistry have conducted raids at Bathu Basti and Prothrapur area and recovered 141 bottles of IMFL from the possession of K. Jayashankar (41 yrs.) r/o Bhatubasti and Kanna Rajan (36 yrs.) r/o Prothrapur.

On 03.03.2020, the team of PS Aberdeen led by Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen comprising SI P. Jeevan, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs, Suresh & Vinod Linya conducted raid at South Point Machi Line and recovered a total 102 Nos. of IMFL bottles from the possession of accused namely M. Murgeshan S/o Late R. Magalingam R/o South Point, Machi Line, Port Blair.

The entire operation took place under Ms. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO South Andaman under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The public is requested to share information about illegal brewing and sale of illicit liquor and narcotic drugs with Police so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice. Such information may be provided at 112, 100, 03192-232100 & 03192-232400 for swift action. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
