Port Blair, Mar 16: Three days capacity building training of facility level staff on “Strategies of NACP phase –V and Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra” organized by the Basic Services Division of Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society from 14th to 16th March, 2023 at Hotel SR Castle, Dollygunj, Port Blair.
A total of 25 staff members were trained. The staff participating was the Counselors, Staff Nurse and Lab Technicians from 13 SA-ICTC; DSRC; ART Centre and Blood Bank.
The goal of the training was to capacity building of facility level staff on strategies to bridge the gap in first 95; index testing and social networking; revised roles and responsibilities of ICTC counselors; understanding referral and linkages with the system and outside the system; building the understanding of Samoorna Surksha Strategy; HIV/AIDS (Prevention & Control) Act 2017; counseling and communication skill development; commodity provision and supply chain management; elimination of Vertical Transmission of HIV and Syphilis; national guidelines on HIV testing and reporting and recording under IIMS.
The resource person of the training were Dr. Sameer Shinde, Freelance Trainer, Mumbai; Mr. Swaminathan and Dr. L. Rani, SETU, Chennai; Dr. PK Sikdar and Mr. Senthil Nathan from ANACS imparted training under the guidance of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS. The program was technically supported by Mrs. Sheela Kumari, Mrs. Rajulaxmi, Mr. Kaushik Kumar Halder and Mr. John Peter.
The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, and ANACS by lighting lamps. The Project Director emphasized to adopt innovative approaches and strategies to increase the coverage of the first 95. Focus on revised client flow, prioritization of clients to bring the High Risk Group, Bridge Population and At Risk clients in the NACP services.
Earlier, the Project Director and other dignitaries were greeted with a green welcome, three days training module was unveiled by the dignitaries and vote of thanks proposed by Mr. S. Senthil Nathan, AD(CST). The three days capacity building training was concluded by distribution of certificates to the participants.
