Twenty-Two Bootleggers arrested by PS Central Crime Station Staff

Port Blair, July 30: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal activities in A&N Islands, has arrested twenty-two bootleggers. The staff of PS Central Crime Station comprising Head Constable V. Hentho, K. N. Anandan, Sanjay Kujur, Upender Singh, Constables K. Rajendran, N. Thangaraj, Hari Krishna Yadav, Samaresh Mistry and Chandran under the close supervision of SI Mohd. Elias, Incharge, PS CCS, carried out special drive against bootleggers at South Andaman Division on 29/07/2019 & 30/07/2019 and arrested 22 persons namely Joga Rao R/o School Line, M. Murgeshan R/o Dairy Farm, Ratan Halder R/o Dairy Farm, K. Murugan R/o Junglighat Seashore, Ansar Ali R/o Junglighat Seashore, Narsima Rao R/o Garacharma, Tilesfor Minj R/o Bargat Line, R. Rajesh R/o Fisheries jetty, J. Silambarasan R/o Nayagaon, A. Dharmaraj R/o Shadipur, Om Kumar Thapa R/o Phonix Bay, V. Boominathan R/o Marine Hill, K. P. K. David R/o Round Basti, Santosh Prasad R/o Buniyadabad, Saroj Singh R/o Prem Nagar, Mariyanus Kerketta R/o Chidiyatapu, Muthu Lingam R/o Chidiyatapu, Muniyaswamy R/o Beodnabad, T. Loganathan R/o Burmanallah No.5, P. Ganeshan R/o Burmanallah No. 5, R. Karthick R/o Prothrapur and Mujib Rahman R/o Garacharma and 22 cases under excise Regulations have been registered against them. The special drive was guided by Dy.SP(CID) Mr Syed Abdul Rashid under the overall supervision of Mr Manoj C, IPS, SP(CID).

The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from the anti-social activity and keeping a strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public has been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832 & 9531857830. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
