Port Blair, Apr 15: Responding to Prime Minister’s clarion call for working towards achieving maximum vaccination coverage for the priority groups during Tika Utsav from April 11 to 14.
Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi , Pankh and ISMAT ,NGO’s working for the upliftment of the society organised a vaccination drive in Beodnabad today with the support of the Former Up Pradhan Mr. R.Paramasivam, staff of the health dept and other frontline workers .
Around 288 doses of Covid 19 vaccine were administered to the beneficiaries of the area. The centre was a great relief for old aged people who had difficulty in travelling to far off vaccination centres
The president Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi Mr. Mandeep Grewal, Charter President ISMAT Mrs. Shahnaz Jadwet, President and Secretary of Pankh Mrs. Komal Anand and Mrs. Geetha Bhat were present at the venue to monitor the vaccination process .
The team also provided lunch to the staff of the Health dept and other frontline workers involved in the vaccination drive.
An additional attraction was setting up of selfie booths at JNRM in the presence of the IGP, Mr. Sanjay Kumar and DIG Mr. Vijay Singh and at Beodnabad in the presence of the Up Pradhan Mr. Paramasivam. People enthusiastically clicked selfies after getting vaccinated. The team of the three NGO’s is committed to offer such services in future also as necessity arises.
