Vishal Jolly demands construction of internal roads in GP Gandhinagar

Port Blair, May 12: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP, Former State President BJP, A&N Islands and Member of Home Ministry Advisory Committee, GoI has raised the concern to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration regarding the unavailability of road connectivity within the panchayat, for the residents of Santinagar, Gandhinagar and Ganeshnagar of Gandhinagar Gram Panchayat, Diglipur Tehsil.

In the letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Jolly mentioned that on his recent visit to the Gandhinagar Gram Panchayat of Diglipur Tehsil, N&M Andaman District, a serious problem of non-availability of internal road connectivity within Gandhinagar Panchayat was brought to his knowledge.

Further, he mentioned that the recently formed Gram Panchayat and the residents of that panchayat don’t have any road connectivity within the Gandhinagar Panchayat jurisdiction. There are three villages within this Panchayat namely Shantinagar, Gandhinagar and Ganesh Nagar. They are facing a tough time with their daily travel, transportation and livelihood.

Accordingly, he requested the Chief Secretary to either direct the APWD authorities to construct those internal roads at the earliest or to provide special adequate funds to the Gram Panchayat Gandhinagar for the construction of internal roads connecting all the three villages coming within its jurisdiction, at the earliest.
