Port Blair, Sept 12: Mr. Vishal Jolly, Former President of Bharatiya Janata Party, ANI and Member, Home Minister’s Advisory Committee, GoI visited the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium on 11.09.2021 in Naya Puram village under Kanyapuram Gram Panchayat on the invitation of the villagers and players residing in this area.
The lone Multipurpose Indoor Stadium under Ferrargunj Tehsil was constructed on 27th February, 2017, and worth Rupees 5.5 crore was spent on its construction.
Mr. Jolly reached the stadium at 11 am and listened to the grievances of the people in respect of stadium’s poor condition and maintenance. People told that due to dripping of water this stadium is no longer playable, and out of four badminton courts only one is worth playing. Leakage started following one month of its construction and out of 54 lights only 20 lights are working, due to which it is very difficult to play at night.
Mr. Vishal Jolly has assured the gathering to take up this matter with the concerned department making all efforts to redress the problems immediately.
