05 Days Training for Investigators on “Safety of Women”

Port Blair, July 03: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized Five days Training for Investigators on Safety of Womenfrom 24.06.2019 to 28.06.2019, for in-service Police officers of A&N Police sponsored by BPR&D to develop specialist Investigators of Crime against Women. The main objective of the course is to improve the investigation skills of the officers on “Safety of Women”. The training programme was inaugurated by Shri. Manoj.C,IPS, Principal/PTS. Faculty members from Court , Medical and A&N Police department i.e. Shri. Michael Raj, DANIPS, VP/PTS, Shri. Quamaruddin, Ld, Sr. APP, Port Blair, Dr. Jai Biswas, Medical Officer, GB Pant Hospital, Shri Yogesh Kumar, Sr. Scientific Oficer, I/C FSL,Port Blair,  Shri. Bharat Kumar Jhapte, SSA, FSL, Shri. Shivendra Pratap Singh, SSA, FSL, Port Blair, Shri. Pankaj Kumar Patil, SA, FSL, Port Blair, Smti. Shanti Murugeshan, Incharge one stop centre (NGO), Inspr. stalin, Anti- Corruption Unit, Inspr. Abita Bachan, CLI/PTS, Inspr. Jyoti Chatwal, Police Line, SI Hemawati, SHO AHT/CAW Cell, SI Mohd. Elias, PS, CCS and SI Abdul Sajid, In-charge, Cyber Cell had delivered informative lecture on various topics like Role of Forensic Science in Sexual Assault Case, Legal provision of Law, Latest Amendment & Important Judicial Pronouncements,  SOP for dealing with Missing Women and Children SC/NHRC/MHA Guidelines, Importance DNA and Sexual Assault Evidence, Season Plan, Collection Handling, Labeling and Packing of Niological and Physical Evidence as Exhibits from Scene of Crime using SAECK, Practical Group Exercise, Cyber Pornography, Paedophilia, steps to be taken for blocking Websites & taking down offensive content and Online Crime,  Investigation of case U/s 498-A IPC, Female Foeticide and Dowry Death Cases, Investigation in Kidnapping and Abduction Cases, Acid Attack, and Custodial Rape Cases on NHRC Guidelines and Victim Counselling etc.

Altogether, 24 Police Personnel of various Police Stations/Units of A&N Police participated in the training programme , Shri. Manoj.C,IPS, Principal, PTS concluded the training programme by emphasizing on the objectives of the course and its implementation. The course was coordinated by Inspr. Abita Bachan, CLI/PTS, Prothrapur under the over all supervision of Principal/PTS.
