PORT BLAIR, Oct 06: As a part of 64th Wildlife Week Celebration, the Department of Environment and Forests organized a Knockout Football Tournament – “3rd Forest Martyr’s Rolling Trophy” at JNRM football stadium , where 14 teams took participation .
Final match for this Trophy was played between United Sporting Club (Junglighat) Vs Rising Youth Club (Wimberlygunj) on 06 Oct 18. Where United Sporting Club defeated Rising Youth Club by 2-1 score.
Mr. TarunCoomar, IFS, PCCF , Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Principal Secretary (Environment & Forest), A& N Islands was the Chief guest in final match. Mr. Coomar presented prizes for winner and runner up teams. Winner team received the Rolling Trophy and cash prize of rupees Twenty five thousand, and runner-up team received cash prize of rupees Fifteen Thousand .Choura Teresa team received fare play award in this tournament. All the Cash prize awards have been sponsored by Maruti Agency House.
