A&N Police Gears Up for the Elections 2019; DGP Briefs the Force at Police Lines

Port Blair, Apr 08: Today, on 08.04.2019, DGP A&N Islands, Sh. Dependra Pathak, IPS, along with IGP (L&O), Smt. Shalini Singh, IPS, IGP (HQ), Sh. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, DIGP (Int.) Sh. Vijay Kumar, IPS and senior officers held the final briefing at Police Lines for all the Police personnel deployed for polling duties.

While re-iterating the commitment to free, fair and impartial elections, DGP A&N Islands, exhorted the police personnel to remain impartial, professional and display a conduct which is beyond question. He emphasized that the impartial role of police is not only their duty but their moral responsibility also towards the society. He further briefed that the police should work towards enforcement of the rule of law and while doing so they should remain courteous but firm. He also highlighted the essential role of Police in a vibrant and healthy democracy. During his briefing DGP commended the Policemen of A&N Police for the good work done by them in curbing the flow of cash, liquor etc. and motivated them to continue their good work.

At the end, a vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
