.Port Blair, May 28: 26th May 2019, Andaman Avians Club team on the eve of the World Biodiversity Day have taken a decision of starting Plastic Cleanliness Drive in the Important Bird Areas (IBA) of South Andaman.
They initiated the work in Chidyatapu Reserved Forest on 25th May 2019. Day 1 they have collected 8 Bags of Plastics, 1 Bag of Wrappers and 2 Bags of Alcohol Bottles. On Day 2 (26th May) the cleanliness drive was further continued with collection of 10 Bags Plastic Bottles, 3 Bags of Wrappers. All the collected wastes were deposited to PBMC for further action.
Andaman Avians Club will keep doing this until the Chidyatapu Forest Area gets completely cleaned along the road side, in a release General Secretary, Andaman Avians Club said.
