Port Blair, Jan 29: The Aam Aadmy Party has requested the Lt. Governor to direct the Chief Engineers, APWD to kindly increase the percentage in reservation for appointment on compassionate ground from 5% to 10% as per their qualification.
In a letter addressed to The Lt. Governor, Raj Niwas, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Mr. Sanjay Meshack, State Convenor, AAP, A & N Islands said that many people are waiting since last many years for appointment for their livelihood on compassionate ground. He said that or else all the candidate who have applied for appointment in compassionate ground may be appointed in DRM till they gets permanent job.
