Port Blair, Oct 28: Mr Sanjib Kumar Mandal, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman has requested Mr Krishan Kumar, Secretary (PWD), A & N Administration for one time semi-permanent patching of potholes of rural road leading from Namunaghar junction to Dunduspoint for a length of 3.26 km. The road was initially constructed by APWD and subsequently transferred to Panchayati Raj under devolution of powers against the decision taken by the A&N Administration for its regular repair and maintenance which could not be undertaken for the last 4-5 years in lieu of prevailing constraint of fund. Presently, the surface of the said road is not worthy for the smooth movement of vehicular traffic due to formation of potholes, undulations and depressions.
