AKA Organises 12th IKO Tournament

Port Blair, May 07: The Andaman Karate Association (Kyakushin Kai Kan),Port Blair (a martial-art based registered organisation, vide REGISTRATION No.1193) recognized by the International Karate Organisation (IKO MATSUSHIMA JAPAN) has successfully organized the 12th IKO on 05th May 2019 (Sunday) in Ananda Marga School Campus, Junglighat, Port Blair. The event was graced by Acharya Krsnaprasannananda Avadhuta, Principal, Ananda Marga School, Junglighat as the Chief Guest white Mr. Ashok Das, Prop. Andaman Super Express, Port Blair was the Guest of Honour.

The tournament was comprised of 27 (twenty-seven) events in three category namely humite, kata and Kiohans for boys and girls (both) of different age-groups. As many as 9.1 (ninety-three) Karatckas Participated in the event. In open Kumite category for boys Akash Sarkar stood first, Joyanto Bar Stood second white third position was secured jointly by Dubrata Mondal and Manimohan Biswas. In open Kumite category for girls, the first and second positions were secured by Niti Das and A.Aruna respectively, while Monalisa Mistry and Isha Huwlader jointly secured the third position. In the light-weight under 50 kgs) category for boys, first, second and third positions were secured by Mr. Nabeen Mallick, Surojit Goyali and Akash Mondal.

In the price distribution ceremony of the tournament, International Black Belt and 1st Dan Certificate were awarded to Mr. Dubrate Mondal by the Chief Guest. The trophies and certificates were given away by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the President of Andaman Karate Association Mr. Auadiranjan Biswas. The entire tournament was conducted by the senior officials of Andaman Karate Association.
