Port Blair, Apr 05: In the continued efforts to boost GoI initiative towards women empowerment, Coast Guard Region (A &N) deployed an all women aircrew in a fixed wing aircraft Dornier for undertaking Maritime Patrolling and to check illegal activities in the seas of Andaman Islands. The air sortie took off from Port Blair on 05 Apr 19 with aircrew comprising of four Coast Guard women officers namely Dy Commandant Pavitra Bandekar, Dy Commandant Rajshree Rathore, Dy Commandant Pratima Mishra and Dy Commandant Avantika Suryavanshi. Such significant steps towards empowering the women in service to undertake surveillance roles not only display their exceptional skills and commitment but also motivating the younger fraternity to look forward to choose defence services as a carrier and excel.
