Port Blair, Feb 25: The Annual General Body meeting of the Diglipur Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 24.02.2019 at Community Hall, Subashgram. Mr. R.Rajendran, Asst. General Secretary and Mr. R.K.Nag, Organising Secretary of the Association attended the meeting as Central Committee observers. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R.Rajendran enlightened the members about the glorious history of the Association and the struggles made by their leaders to achieve the demands and facilities being enjoyed by the govt. servants in these islands. He also informed the gathering on the ongoing movements by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employeees & Workers, New Delhi for the settlement of some genuine demands which include Revision of Minimum wage and Fitment formula, Withdrawal of NPS, Option-1 for pensioners etc.
Mr. S.Arumugam, Secretary of the branch presented the working report while Mr. Dasrat Mistry, Treasurer presented the Audited Accounts. A number of demands pertaining to the employees and teachers posted at Diglipur area were adopted in the meeting which include resolving of LPG crisis, starting of ATR flight service to Diglipur under UDAN scheme etc. The Annual General Body re-elected Mr. Biswanath Mandal as Vice President, Mr. S.Arumugam as Secretary and Mr. Dasrat Mistry as Treasurer of the branch. The meeting was presided by Mr. Ashim Podder and Mr. Oscar Baxla proposed vote of thanks.
