Port Blair, Jan 07: Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi has requested the A&N Administration to nominate one artist from these Islands in the General Council of the Akademi. The objective of the Akademi is to foster and coordinate activities in the sphere of visual arts and through this the Akademi wants to promote the cultural unity of the country. The Akademi has been involved in facilitating the synergy and appreciation of the arts. The Akademi also promotes study and research in the field of creative arts such as painting, sculpture, graphics, etc. It promotes interaction of visual arts with other forms of arts through interregional, intercultural and institutional exchange of ideas.
In this regard, applications have been invited from artists of A&N Islands who have vast experience in the field of creative arts such as painting, sculpture, graphics, etc. for considering their nomination in Lalit Kala Akademi. Interested artists may submit their bio data highlighting contribution in visual art along with supporting documents to the Director (Art & Culture), A&N Administration, Cellular Jail Complex on or before 15.01.2019.
