Port Blair, July 29: On 29/07/19 an awareness programme on the topics of Good and Bad touch, POCSO Act and the utilization of Nirbheek Box which was installed in the school has been conducted at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo by the staff of Crime against Women Cell (CID).
During the programme SI T Hemawati, In-charge, Crime against Women Cell (CID) interacted with the students and sensitized them about the good and bad touch about various forms of harassments, physical abuse and violations. Students and teachers were made aware of POCSO Act and they were also sensitized about how they can seek the help of police and other agencies including NGO. They were also provided the important phone numbers such as Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) -112, Police Control Room and Child Helpline which they can contact when and when needed.
During the awareness programme Shri Syad Abdul Rashid, Dy.Superintendent of Police (CID) also interacted with students and shared his valuable experience.
In the awareness program around 216 students (both girls and boys) and 16 teachers attended. The In-charge and staff of at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo appreciated and included that the programme organized was very effective and beneficial.
The entire awareness programme was conducted by Dy.SP(CID) Shri. Syad Abdul Rashid under the overall supervision of Shri. Manoj C, IPS, SP(CID).
