Baakprotima Organises Literary Get-Together

Port Blair, Mar 11: In honour of Mr. Bapi Chakraborty, Editor of ‘DURER KHEYA’ – a Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh)-based Bengali Little Magazine as well as the very first organiser of ‘Bahirbango Utsav’ (Outer Bangla Festival), BAAKPROTIMA – the only RNI-registered Bengali Little Magazine of this archipelago arranged a literary get-together in its premises at Junglighat on Sunday, the 10th March 2019.

A discussion-cum-inter action on the topic ‘Present Condition of Bangla Language and Literature in A&N Islands’ was held in this get-together, which was extemporarily participated by Mr. Anadi Ranjan Bhattacharjee (General Secretary, Aditya Natya Academy), Mr. Chittaranjan Roy (Retired Teacher & Folk Drama-Artist), Mr. Raisuddin Gayen (Retired Music Teacher & Writer), Mr. Avijit Sarkar (Cultural Activist) & Smt. Shampa Sarkar (Drama-Artist & Reciter), among others.

The literary get-together commenced with presentation of inaugural song by Mr. Tirthankar Chakraborty. Mr. Birendra Kishore Talukdar, Isles’ veteran folk singer presented two Lalangeetis, which were applauded by the guests. Poetry was recited by Mr. Nandalal Debsharma and Smt. Kaveri Debsharma. Mr. Raisuddin Gayen and Mr. Bapi Chakraborty presented their self-composed poems.

The get-together concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor of ‘Baakprotima’ & ‘News Spotlight’.
