Port Blair, Sept 07: Since a long time the Baratang region was facing acute shortage of regional buses and due to various region in many areas the buses were not operated in proper time. Taking up this issue the Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang, Mr. Alagar Swamy along with Pradhan of Nilambur recently met Mr. Navlendra Singh, the Director of Transport.
During the meeting the problems of Baratang region was highlighted infront of the Director by the PRI members. Taking immediate step the Director of Transport immediately declared to send one new and two old buses for Baratang region to make sure that regional transport in Baratang region can be managed smoothly.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha the Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang Mr. Alagar Swami expressed gratitude towards the Transport Department and the Director of Transport for taking immediate steps to solve transportation problem of Baratang Island.
