Port Blair, Oct 25: The Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang Island, Mr. Alagar Swami today met the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration and highlighted the local issues of Baratang region.
During the meeting the ZP member highlighted issues of construction of approach road and passenger hall for Baratang Halipad, which is yet to become operational due to lack of road and passenger hall. He also highlighted issues of delay in construction of Sea Wall, Need of a Petrol Pump, Closure of lone quarry of the area etc.
The Chief Secretary reportedly gave a patient hearing and assured immediate steps to resolve these problems, infact, during the meeting he directed the Principal Secretary to look into these matters at the earliest.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Alagar Swami expressed his gratitude towards Chief Secretary for listening to problems of Baratang so patiently and taking immediate step.
Mr. Alagar Swami also invited the CS to Baratang on which the CS assured to pay a visit to Baratang soon.
