Port Blair, July 28: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur organized Block Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament Programme at Panchayat Hall, Madhupur on 27.07.2019 with the objective to develop platform of youth clubs further in the shape of Vibrant ‘ neighbourhood youth parliament’ so as to educate the youth club members about contemporary socio – economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular and to involve them in debate/discussions on such issues.
Mr. Shyamal Mondal, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur was the chief guest and he inaugurated the programme. In his speech, he urges the Youth Club and Mahila Mondal’s active participation in nation building and to help the back ward people to impart in the main stream. Altogether 80 male and female participants were participated from adjoining Youth Club and Mahila Mondals of Diglipur zone. Mr. Shyamal Debnath, Pradhan,Gram Panchayat,Madhupur was present as guest of honour and delivered speech on the topic of various schemes of Self Employment.
During the programme Child Nutrition, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Health and Sanitation etc. topics were covered through the speech delivered by Mr. T.Kumaraswamy,Block Coordinator, ICDS, Diglipur, Mr. Madan Singh, Health Educator, CHC, Diglipur and Mr. R.Linu Nair, CSI, Diglipur as resource persons.
Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Diglipur welcomed the respectable persons and gathering. He also highlighted about the important of the programme especially for youth. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Diglipur.
