Central Crime Station cracks down on illegal Narcotics

Port Blair, Mar 12: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested one drug peddler. On 11/03/2019 a team comprising Inspector Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS, SI Mohd Elias, SI T. Dilla Rao, ASI Vijay Shankar, HC/1633 V. Hento, HC/94 P. Mustafa, PC/705 H.K. Yadav, PC/966 Mondal & HG/738 B. Yogeshwar Rao was constituted. Based on credible information a trap was laid by PS CCS raiding team and apprehended ,one person namely Sambhu Das S/o Late Joytish Das (48) yrs R/o Prothrapur (now at Dollygunj) and recovered 4.010 Kgs of illicit ganja from his possession. The illicit ganja was seized on the spot and Accused was  arrested under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. The entire raid was commanded by Dy.SP(CID) George Lalu and under the overall supervision of Sh.Manoj.C, SP(CID).

The CID & CCS unit of Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from anti social activity and keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public have been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832, 9476051686 & 9531856294. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret, in a communication received from Manoj.C, IPS, Superintendent of Police (CID), Andaman & Nicobar Islands
