Port Blair, Mar 01: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal activities, has busted a Gambling Den. On 28/02/2019 a team comprising Inspector Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS, SI Siva Kumar, T.Dilla Rao, Head Constable V. Hentho, Sanjay Kujur, K.N. Andandan, Constable Bhaskar Rao, P. K. Mondal & H. K. Yadav conducted a raid at Garacharma Jungle near Water Tank and apprehended eight gamblers namely 1) Shyam Singh R/o Dignabad 2) S.Udhayan R/o near Ratna Market 3) C.Hussain R/o Haddo 4) N.Krishnan R/o Garacharma 5) Pandi Rajan R/o Garacharma 6) Zulmat Ali R/o Bambooflat 7) M.Srinivas Rao R/o Garacharma & 8) A.Sekhar R/o Delanipur who were indulging in gambling and seized Rupees 1,07,500/- (Rupees One lakh seven thousand five hundred) as board money & Rupees 11,000/- (Rupees eleven thousand) on personal search from Gamblers. All the eight persons were arrested on the spot under Andaman & Nicobar Gambling Regulation 1951. The entire gambling raid was commanded by Dy. SP(CID) George Lalu.
The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from anti social activity and keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public have been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832, 9476051686 & 9531856294. The information will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret, said Superintendent of Police (CID), Port Blair, A&N Islands in a press release.
