Chief Secretary assures to restore old Schedule of Baratang Ferry

Port Blair, Jan 21: The Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Mr. Chetan B Sanghi today reportedly assured the Zilla Parishad member of Baratang Island to restore the old schedule of Baratang Ferry.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Alagar Swamy, the Zilla Parishad Member of Baratang area today said that he met the Chief Secretary and informed him about the inconvenience being faced by public due to sudden change in (return) ferry timing to 2.00 pm from 3.00 pm and also withdrawal of Baratang-Havelock-Baratang trip.
Mr. Alagar Swamy reportedly requested the Chief Secretary to restore the old timing of (return) ferry from Baratang to Port Blair at 3.00 PM and also morning ferry from Baratang to Havelock and Havelock to Baratang, which was of great help for people of North and Middle Andaman. According to the Zilla Parishad member the Chief Secretary assured him to restore the old ferry timing.
On the issue of implementation of GP rating in all small boats, Mr. Alagar Swamy urged the Chief Secretary to give relaxation of further 3 months for all candidates of A & N Islands, which according to him, the Chief Secretary agreed.
