Port Blair, March 17: Mr. N.K.Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council accompanied by Mr. AjoyBairagi, State President BJP A&N Islands, Mr. Vishal Jolly, Core Committee Member and Mr. D.C.Arunagiri, State Vice President met the Prime Minister of India, Mr. NarendraModi on 16th March 2020 at New Delhi. The Chairperson, PBMC raised various issues pertaining to Port Blair Municipal Council, the lone Civic Body. Apart from other matters, relating to the issue of regularization of Casual Mazdoors those who are working under the Council since long. The Civic Chief appealed the Prime Minister to protect the interest of the Daily Rated Mazdoors and issue necessary direction to the Administration to consider the matter of the Casual Mazdoors as early as possible. Further the matter of one time relaxation of the constructed buildings in violation of building Bye-Laws was also discussed. The Prime Minister after a patient hearing assured the delegation all the issues raised by them would be given utmost priority and resolved at the earliest.
