Coast Guard Conducts Friendly Volleyball Match

Port Blair, Jan 10: Indian Coast Guard organized a friendly volleyball match with the members of fishing community of Gopal Nagar (Chouldhari), as a part of CG week celebration on 09 Jan 19. The aim of the event was to create awareness about role of Coast Guard among the fishing community and to promote an enhanced relationship with each other. Every year Coast Guard conducts various events for the commemoration of Coast Guard raising day to enhance its reach to every mariners in the Islands.
The teams, displayed great skill and enthusiasm. Mr. Mohan Halder, Gram Pradhan, Chouldhari Gram Panchayat was invited as the Chief Guest for the match. In addition to the friendly Volleyball match, a special interaction with local populace was also conducted, wherein a brief about Indian Coast Guard and its roles at sea were explained to the gathering. The inhabitants of the village and the participants of the team expressed their delight and appreciation on culmination of the interaction.
