Port Blair, Oct 15: The Electricity Department today said that the residents/organizations are approaching department for providing un-interrupted power supply during Durga Puja and other festivals in North & Middle Andaman.
“It is the collective duty of the service provider and the consumer to save power enabling the Electricity Department to provide un-interrupted power supply to the extent possible in the season of festivals. The department is providing basic electric connections to the pandals etc. on the request of the various consumers/organization as per prevailing rules. But seeing the weather condition and other un-avoidable circumstances (i.e. electrical issues), interruption of power supply may occur on such occasions at any time,” a release from electricity department said here today.
In this circumstances, all such consumers/organisations have been requested by the department make their own alternate arrangements for power supply for the event of failure of power due to reason beyond our control.
Further, the Electricity Department appealed to all the electricity consumers of North & Middle Andaman District to consume power judiciously during festive seasons.
