Courageous act by Nicobar Police

Car Nicobar, Oct 25: The Andaman & Nicobar Police and IRBn Jawans have shown exemplary efforts to nab eight Foreign Poachers from Katchal Island.
On receipt of information on sighting of Foreign Boat, local police Immediately swung in to action and launched a massive search operation lead by SHO PS Katchal and his team under the direct supervision of Mr. Manoj IPS, SP Nicobar District and under overall supervision of IGP Shalini Singh IPS.
The joint team of police and IRBn went for anti-poaching operation under extreme inclement weather in to hostile environment of deep dense jungle with zeal.
After 10 days of continuous effort and motivation provided by superior officers, the team succeeded in apprehending eight Burmese poachers, It is also learnt that poachers had tried to assault with a dau on Jawans to evade apprehension, but a jawan Sandeep with the sense of brotherhood and presence of mind tried to protect his colleagues gave warning to him to stop but the poacher dint heed, hence he fired to stop him.
Later the poacher was given first aid by the police staff and was immediately air-lifted to G.B Pant Hospital. This courageous act of A&N police deserves appreciation.
