Cultural Programme Organized by Police Family Welfare Society, Andaman & Nicobar Police

Port Blair, Oct 21: A mesmerizing cultural programme for the welfare & entertainment of Police personnel was organized by Police Family Welfare Centre (PFWC), Andaman &Nicobar Police, on 20.10.2018 at Police Lines. Mrs. Geeta Pathak, President, Police Family Welfare Association, was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands was the Guest of Honour.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, DGP, A&N Islands and members of PFWC. Thereafter, one minute silence was observed to pay homage to our brave police martyrs who had made supreme sacrifices while protecting the nation and its citizen from crime, terrorism & insurgency.
Mrs. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Superintendent of Police (AP), Secretary, PFWC, welcomed the gathering, which comprised of all ranks of police personnel with their families. The families of Police personnel enthralled the audience with their exceptional performances and by showcasing their talents in different fields like dance, singing, recitation, skit & plays and Karate Demonstration. The live Police Band also played to everyone’s delight & added to the joy.
The DGP, ANI, in his address, congratulated the participants for their excellent performance and emphasized that such type of programmes and activities should be regularly conducted for motivation of the Police personnel and their family members. He also emphasized on organizing various welfare activities for the benefits of family member and wards of Police personnel.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Geeta Pathak, was very appreciative of the programme. Addressing the gathering, she conveyed her heartiest greetings and best wishes to all the participants, police personnel and their family members. She also urged everyone to come together so that Police Family Welfare Centre can organize large number of welfare activities for the benefit of the families of Police personnel such as skill training for women & coaching classes, career counselling, dance & hobby classes for the wards of police personnel and other activities such as health camp, Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan etc.
Police Family Welfare Centre came into existence in 1974. It has since been engaged in providing skills, knowledge & empowerment to the family members of A&N Police personnel. Various welfare & recreational activities have been organized by this centre in the past. PFWC aims to achieve glorious heights and organise lot of welfare activities under the able guidance of our new team leader Mrs. Geeta Pathak. The Programme ended with the vote of thanks by Mrs. S.K. Meena, DANIPS, DySP (AP), Police Lines.
