Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District Visits Hanspuri Village

Port Blair, Mar 05: Under the Scheme of the Government “Sarkar aapke Dwaar” District Administration led by Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District along with the heads of offices of various departments visited Hanspurivillage, Mayabunder today on 5th March, 2019.

A public meeting was conducted with the heads of offices, PRI members and general public at Govt. Middle School, Hanspuri. Many issues were raised by the villagers viz. construction of road from Hanspuri to Bajota, BSNL network connectivity, construction of community infrastructures, power supply, water supply, construction of helipad, taking up of developmental works through MGNREGA, and shortage of staffs in various government institutions like sub-centre, school, veterinary, etc.

The Deputy Commissioner requested all the departments to go out of the way to help resolve the grievances of the public residing in such a remote location with a minimal infrastructural support of the government. All the departments responded positively and committed to complete the needed developmental works in a time bound manner. Regarding the availability of an alternate route through forest area for carrying patients during emergency, the DC N&MA assured to take up the matter with the appropriate authority Later the team conducted joint field visit of the sub-centre, anganwadi centre, water and power supply infrastructures, and the polling station and desired action were discussed with the concerned department.

Later, the DC N&M Andaman expressed his gratitude to the Pradhan Chainpur and the public of Hanspuri for extending such a warm welcome to the team and praised their cooperation with all the departments. He also expressed the commitment of the district administration resolving the genuine grievances of the public of the district. He also requested the eligible left-out voters of the village to get themselves enrolled immediately and urged all to pledge to vote in the upcoming general election to Lok Sabha, 2019, in a communiqué PA to Deputy Commissioner said.
