Car Nicobar, April 9: An ‘Election Carnival’ was organized by the District Election Officer, Nicobars at Gandhi Chowk under SVEEP activities yesterday. The Govt. Officials along with school students and youth participated in the carnival wearing colorful costumes, showcasing props, flags, riding bicycles and danced to the Raahghiri of election from Gandhi Chowk to Election Park, Perka HQ celebrating ‘Desh ka Maha Tyohaar-General Election 2019’ and ‘No voter to be left behind’.
The park was inaugurated by the first time voters of Car Nicobar. The Election Park was decorated with colorful lights and election banners, flags and posters were displayed in the park, to create awareness among the people of Car Nicobar. Information on EVM, VVPAT, various forms, SVEEP, facilities for PWD voters/elderly voters at Polling Booth and election related information has been displayed in the park; besides a signature campaign board has also been placed in the park.
Apart from this, ‘Raahgiri Concert’ was also organized in the election park, where cultural events like fashion show, rap songs and dance competitions on ‘election theme’ were performed by the local students and youth. A large number of people assembled in the park and witnessed the Election Carnival.
