Port Blair, Feb 26: To create awareness about the whole electioneering process to the general public in each nook and corner of the district in view of upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2019, an Election Express Van was launched by the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS on 26th February, 2019 in the presence of AC (HQ) Mr. Mahesh Kumar Gupta and all officers of the District Office, Mayabunder. The van will be manned by the trained staff. EVM & VVPAT will be displayed in the van too and the necessary training will be imparted to the general public. All the forms for the enrollment of left out eligible voters and for correction of entries shall be available with the van so as to ensure that ‘No Voters is Left Behind’. The same will be on the move in whole North & Middle Andaman district, the schedule for which will be circulated to the PRI members and public of the concerned area well in advance.
Later on 26th February, 2019, a training programme was also organized by the District Election Office in the Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Mayabunder for imparting necessary training to the Model Code of Conduct and Expenditure Monitoring Teams of the district. The DC N&MA welcomed all the participants and briefed them about its importance. He urged all to work in a team to ensure that election is conducted in a free and fair way. The District Level Master Trainers Mr. Balbir Singh, Mr. K.N.V.N.Rao, Mr. Ajay Mondal, and Mr. P. Rajesh Kumar covered issues like roles and responsibilities of various Modal Code of Conduct (MCC) teams viz. flying squad, Video surveillance & Viewing, Stationary, and Check Point Teams along with the nuances of Election Expenditure & Monitoring.
