Port Blair, Apr 04: A Special Election Campaign for ‘Divyang’ Persons was organized under SVEEP & ICDS (TP), Car Nicobar at Kutchat Children’s Park, Perka (HQ), Car Nicobar yesterday. The chief guest, Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District congratulated the winners and the participants of various competitions organised as part of this campaign and appealed them to cast their votes on 11th April 2019.The divyang persons would be accompanied from their homes by the respective anganwadi workers to the polling stations and would be dropped back to their homes. Wheel chairs have also been arranged in coordination with the Health Department. Queue jumping for Divyang persons and Braille ballot paper, companion for blind, etc was also communicated. They were familiarized with the EVM machines and VVPATs.
Earlier, Dr. Manjayshree Devi, CDPO, Car Nicobar welcomed all and spoke on the importance of voting among the ‘Divyang’ Persons. All divyang persons, anganwadi workers, members of tribal council participated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm in painting and singing competitions that were organized on the theme ‘Desh ka maha tyohaar – No Voter to Be Left Behind’.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Kanchan Mondal, Mukhya Sevika, ICDS (TP), Car Nicobar who thanked the participants and the various coordinated Departments for their active participation in the programme.
