Port Blair, Oct 29: As a part of celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Ganesh Youth Club, Rest Camp organised football knockout tournament on 27/10/2018 and 28/10/2018 at Netaji Sports Complex, Mayabunder in which 10 teams from the block of Mayabunder participated.
The inauguration match was played between Panighat and Austin II. Panighat team defeated Austin II by 2-1 and the match inaugurated by Mr. Mahesh Kumar Gupta (Danics), Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder. The final match was played between Panighat team and Bajota team. The Bajota team defeated Panighat team by 4-0. In the valedictory function Mr. Kalyan Gosh, Joint Commissioner, GST was the chief guest while Mr. Soarav Biswas, Assistant Commissioner, GST was the guest of honour. The chief guest as well as guest of honour distributed trophies and certificate among winner and runner teams.
