Port Blair, Apr 08: The District Election Officer, N&MA, Mr. Awanish Kumar reviewed the final election preparedness in the district in a meeting held yesterday with all the Sector Officers, AEROs, AROs, OSD Election, Nodal Officers and all other election related officials of North & Middle Andaman District.
The District Election Officer, N&MA reviewed the status of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs), construction of shed, fixing of signages, arrangement of furniture, special dispensation for PwD voters, etc. in all the polling stations of the District. The setting up of Model and All-Women Polling Station in three tehsils of the District were also discussed. The District Election Officer also urged all the sector officers to coordinate closely with the micro observers, sector police officers, and liaison officers to facilitate the smooth conduct of election. The deployment plan of reserve EVMs and ECIL Engineers were also finalized after due deliberations.
Various instructions regarding conduct of Sector Officers and polling personnel (for the pre-poll and poll day) was given to ensure free and fair election. The modalities regarding storage, despatch, distribution and collection of both polled and unpolled EVMs and VVPAT along with other polling materials were discussed and finalized too.
The District Election Officer expressed his satisfaction with the overall election preparedness in the District and exhorted all the Departments to work with an exemplary coordination to successfully conduct the polls on April 11, 2019.
