Governor of Himachal Pradesh visits Zonal Anthropological Museum, Port Blair

Port Blair, Jan 21: The Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Devvrat Acharya visited Zonal Anthropological Museum, Port Blair and signed the Guest Book. At the outset, Ms. Banita Behera, Officer in charge, Zonal Anthropological Museum warmly welcomed and greeted the Governor with floral bouquet with the presence of Head of Office, Dr.Nilanjan Khatua.
The Governor was explained about life through ages, journey of man from evolution to till contemporary society through displayed panels and dioramas in the exhibition galleries. Ms.Banita also explained about the characteristic features of the Andaman tribes and folk communities along with cultural fauna and flora related to them. The Governor evinced keen interest and enquired about the tribes especially about the Sentinelese exhibits exhibited in the Museum galleries. He documented his visit in the visitors’ book with words of appreciation for Anthropological Survey of India and for the good work carried out by officials.
Dr.Khatua, Head of Office, ANRC, extended his gratitude to His Excellency the Governor of Himachal Pradesh for his kind visit to the Zonal Anthropological Museum.
