N&M Andaman, Apr 05: North & Middle Andaman District Police is committed to ensure fair and transparent election in the entire Jurisdiction and in order to fulfil their commitment they have mounted highest level of vigilance in the area to curb all sort of malpractices related to elections. To prove the commitment and dedication special picketing team of Police personnel of PS Diglipur mounted surveillance in entire jurisdiction of PS Diglipur from dawn to dusk to detect election related offences. During the sharp vigilance, at 1915 Hrs a resident of Port Blair was nabbed with cash Rs. 1,03,110/- near MelaGround, Sita Nagar, Diglipur. Similarly at2005Hrs another resident of Dignabad, Port Blair was apprehended with an amount of Rs1,50,000/-near Power House at Sita Nagar, Diglipur.
Due to the sustained and continuous efforts of Police team comprising SI DebrataRaha, HC/506 G UdayBhanu and CT/105131657 Biswajit Das total amount of Rs. 2,53,110/- was seized.
The entire operation was commanded by Inspector SahilShamsuddin, SHO PS Diglipur under the close supervision of Mr. Sukanth S Ballabh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
