Port Blair, Oct 28: On 15/10/18 the team of Police Station Humfreygunj has arrested one person with 4 Cannabis (illicit ganja) weighing 0.515 kg near Tsunami Shelter at Sippighat.
On receipt of credible information at PS Humfreygunj, that a person namely Hajrat Mondal R/o Tsunami Shelter at Sippighat has planted Cannabis plant at the backyard of his house, a raiding team was formed led by Insp. K. Binoj, SHO PS Humfreygunj, ASI R.B.S Durai, HCM.C Sekhar, PC’s Gulshan Mohd., Mohd. Shafique and Sini Rajuwas formed under the direct supervision of Mr. M. Umar, SDPO (B/Flat) which recovered the Cannabis plants from the possession of accused person namely Hajrat Mondal, (49) yrs. He was arrested on the spot under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and case has been registered at PS Humfreygunj.
The general public has requested to share information with Police in full confidence so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice and may pass such information on 03192-232100. The informant will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
