Port Blair, Apr 04: The 32nd Convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on Wednesday, 3rd April, 2019. The former Director of CIARI and Principal Scientist & Head, Fish & Fisheries Science, CIARI, Port Blair Dr. Sibnarayan Dam Roy was the Guest of Honour for the Convocation Function at IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair. The function was held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, near Municipal Council, Port Blair. Under IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair 947 students are awarded certificates for 32nd Convocation. Among 947 candidates, 257 students were collected their Degrees/Diplomas Certificates. In the Convocation function, the Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Staff from IGNOU Study Centres, Academic Counsellors, and general public were present. The NCC and NSS students of JNRM and the School Musical (Instrument) Troop-Band of Kendriya Vidyala No.1, Port Blair, have also participated in the said function. The live telecast in Gyandarshan-2 TV channel (under Doordarshan bouquet as free-to-air channel) was viewed by the audience through big projector. The live TV telecast of local convocation function held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium has also been viewed at residences, through Andaman Cable Network (cable TV) in entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Mementoes have been distributed to all media personnel’s as IGNOU Associate.
