IGNOU Launch PG Dip. in Analytical Chemistry

Port Blair, June 03: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre, Port Blair has activated the Post Graduate Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (PGDAC) at Study Centre-0201, Port Blair for July 2019 academic session onwards.  The PG Diploma in Analytical Chemistry is a continuing education programme aimed for the enhancement of skills of the chemists employed in Industry, Research & Development and National Laboratories. It is also useful for all those Science Graduates who are aspiring to get employment in these labs. The main objectives of the programme are to provide training in modern analytical techniques; to provide theoretical background and develop practical skills for analyzing materials, even in trace amounts, using modern analytical methods and instruments; to enable students acquire to the analytical data and interpret the same using statistical principles and to inculcate a problem -solving approach by coordinating different analytical techniques.

The one year programme, in English Medium, consists of 32 credits with four theory courses namely: Basic Analytical Chemistry, Separation Methods, Spectroscopic Methods and Electro-analytical and other Methods and four lab courses each namely,   Basic Analytical Chemistry lab, Separation Methods Lab, Spectroscopic Methods Lab and Electro-analytical and other Methods Lab  (Fee: Rs. 9800/-). All Science Graduates with Chemistry as one of the subjects (including B.Pharma) are eligible for PG Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.  Now the admission for July 2019 Academic session is open at IGNOU website: www.ignou.ac.in.
