Port Blair, June 04:On 29/05/19 at 0630 hrs on a tip-off information regarding a live Illicit liquor distillation unit inside dense jungle of Shibpur village, the elite Excise team of PS Diglipur comprising Constable Sushil Sarkar, Bijoy Das & Sujay Gharami immediately swung into action and conducted exhaustive search in and around dense jungles of Shibpur. During the search, a live distillation unit was busted inside Shibpur jungle where around 60 liters of fermented wash and entire articles used in distillation were recovered.
The search operation was conducted under the directions of Inspector Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Diglipur under the close supervision of Shri Sukanth S Ballabh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Diglipur.
Due to sustained and continuous efforts of District Police the menace of illicit distillation is nearly extinct in entire North & Middle Andaman District.
