Port Blair, Apr 21: Annual B. Srikath Memorial tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest Group Captain G.S Bhullar, VM, Station Commander, IAF Base, Car Nicobar in the presence of Mr. Rajeev Kumar, IPS, SP Nicobar District, ASP Ms. SandhyaSwamy, Dy. SP Mr. Jagdev Singh Yadav, officers of Air force, District Administration and members of Tribal council, Car Nicobar on 20.04.2019. This tournament is organized every year by Nicobar District Police in the memory of Late Dr. B. Srikanth, IPS who passed away during his tenure in Nicobar District in the year 2013. SP Nicobar and ASP Sandhya elaborated the achievements and contribution of Late Dr. B.Srikanth, IPS to the Nicobar District and Nicobar police during his tenure. Then Chief Guest emphasized the importance of games and announced the formal start of season IV of the tournament. Total 24 teams from Nicobar District are participating this year in the tournament. Today first match was played between IAF, Car Nicobar team and Big Lapathy village which was won by IAF, Car Nicobar by 8 wickets. The inauguration ceremony was ended with vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District said.
