Port Blair, July 23: As a part of the Tourist Police Ecosystem scheme, Director General of Police, A&N Police, Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS inaugurated the Tourist Police Kiosk at Bharatpur Beach, Shaheed Dweep on 20th July 2019.
The inauguration program was attended by Smti. Shalini Singh, IPS, IGP (L&O), Senior Police Officers, PRI member, Students etc.
A welcome speech was given by Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District underlining the duties and responsibilities of the staff of tourist police kiosk. During his address, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Police, Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS spokes about the importance of Tourism in A&N Island’s economy. He informed the people about the steps being taken by A&N Police for the safety and security of the tourists. He also urged people and tourists to make use of the services of Tourist Police & its helpline No. 155307.
In the end, Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. Prasant Choudhary, DANIPS, SDPO (Swaraj Dweep). During this program, the Police Entertainment Team members presented a skit on tourist safety and police band played melodious tunes.
