Industries Deptt. to organize seminar on “Start-up India” on July 5

Port Blair, July 2: The “Startup India” programme was launched on 16th January, 2016. The Startup India initiative has rolled out several programs with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs, building a robust startup ecosystem and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers. Hon’ble Prime Minister launched “Andaman & Nicobar Innovation and Start-up Policy 2018” on Dec. 30, 2018. Andaman & Nicobar Islands became the first Union Territory to have its own Start-up Policy.

 

In order to give a wider exposure to various features and incentives of Start-up India, Directorate of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration in association with Invest India Start-up team of Department for Industrial Development and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India is going to organize a one day seminar on July 5, 2019 in the conference hall of Directorate of Industries. It is also planned to have a pitching competition during the seminar where Start ups can pitch their ideas. The winners shall get an opportunity to get advisory and consultations from partners of Invest India. The interested students/ start-ups/entrepreneurs who are willing to attend the aforesaid seminar are requested to register themselves at Directorate of Industries, Port Blair on any working days between 9 am to 4 pm till July 4, 2019.
