Port Blair, May 10: Under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), INS Utkrosh organised a blood donation camp here today to mark its anniversary celebrations. The event was facilitated by the Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society and Blood Bank of GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.
Commander Ashutosh Ridhorkar, VSM, Naval Component Commander inaugurated the event as the first donor. INS Utkrosh organized this blood donation camp as a part of social responsibility. The event received an extremely enthusiastic response. About 134 units of blood were collected during the camp. Dr M Joy, the Project Director, Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society addressed the donors and explained the importance of blood donation. He thanked ANC and INS Utkrosh for this noble initiative, a PIB, Port Blair release said.
