INTACH Andaman and Nicobar Chapter Launches Sculpting and Clay Modelling Workshop for Childcare Home

Port Blair, May 16: The INTACH Andaman and Nicobar Chapter, with support from the Directorate of Social Welfare, has initiated a sculpting and clay modelling workshop for children from child-care homes under the Directorate.

Renowned sculptor Mr. Promotho Mazumder, a celebrated artist with 25 years of experience and recipient of the Martand Singh Memorial Award this year, is the resource person for the workshop.

A total of 45 children from five childcare institutions—Love Children Home, Abhyudaya Complex (Ferrargunj), Pranab Kanya Sangh, Balika Niketan, Capstone, and Bethany Home—are participating in this enriching experience.

The workshop commenced today in the presence of Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director of Social Welfare, Mr. A. K. Biswas, Probation Officer, Ms. Samhita Veda Acharya, Convenor of INTACH A&N Chapter, and Mr. Sajit Jaina, Volunteer at INTACH. This workshop is part of the intangible heritage awareness projects by the INTACH A&N Chapter, aiming to foster creativity and cultural awareness among the children.
