Port Blair, Mar 08: 8th March is a day of hope, reflection and a celebration of gender equality in all sorts of life. Along with the World Women’s Day was also observed in JNRM. NSS UNIT-3 organized a sensitization program for volunteers. Dr. Manju Nair, Associate Professor, Geography, Chief Guest, urged volunteers to be more responsible, participative, enthusiastic and to fight against discrimination & injustice with women. Earlier in Dr. Vivek Kumar Sahu, Program Officer NSS UNIT 3, appreciated Women in our lives – as mother, wife, sister, daughter, relative, friend or colleague. Volunteers, Aakash Gharami, Sumaiya Begum and Krishnaveni also express their views and experiences. The Program ended with recitation poem dedicated to women.
