Port Blair, July 16: In a program held on July 12 in Bengaluru, Sumangala Mummigatti was awarded this year’s Kannada Sahitya Parishat’s Translation award for Koneya Ale, her translation into Kannada of The Last Wave – an island novel, Pankaj Sekhsaria’s debut novel based on the people, ecology and history of the Andaman Islands.
Koneya Ale was published by Navakarnataka Publications Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru in 2018 while The Last Wave was published by HarperCollins India in 2014.
